Laura Michie
Laura Michie, M.Ed.

Laura earned her M.Ed. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Virginia. She earned her B.S. from Longwood College where she majored in Speech-Language Pathology and Minored in Psychology. In 2006, Laura earned an M.A. from John’s Hopkins University in writing. As a graduate student, I completed my externship at the Veteran’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. My Clinical Fellowship Year was completed at the Northern Virginia Easter Seal’s Foundation.
I have 28 years of experience including hospital, public school, home care, private practice, and long-term care settings. I worked as a senior speech-language pathologist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and worked for Johns Hopkins Pediatrics at Home. I have worked as a program director for the rehabilitation department in long-term care.
Recently, I was employed at Copper Ridge in Sykesville, Maryland where I worked with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and memory impaired residents. I participated in education programs provided by The Copper Ridge Institute which is affiliated with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
