My name is Jena Powell. I grew up in Walkersville, MD and just moved back to Frederick County. I attended the University of Maryland, College Park and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in hearing and speech sciences. I taught first grade in Silver Spring, MD for 3 years and loved teaching my students to communicate. I decided to go back to graduate school at Loyola University to become a speech-language pathologist.

I am currently working as a full-time SLP in MCPS serving elementary school students in the areas of receptive/expressive language, articulation/phonology, fluency, and pragmatic language. In my free time I enjoy crafting, going to the beach, watching my favorite sports teams, and spending time with friends and family. I am looking forward to joining the Frederick SLP and OT team this summer!
